What is a Mountain Bike marathon?

A Mountain Bike Marathon is by definition a true challenge. It requires experience, resistance and a great effort to finish the distance. There are ups and downs, short loops and turns, rocks and thorns that makes the tracks harder and more difficult to ride. Add the heat as an important factor and as a result you will have one of the hardest mountain bike marathons in the country.

A biker would lose 5,000 calories and should drink 4 to 5 liters of water as an average in order to avoid dehydration.

The best bikers will finish the race in over 4 hours and the finish booth will close 10 hours after the race starts, for safety reasons.

We suggest to all participants in the Cardenche Mountain Bike Marathon to use a good quality bike, preferably with double suspension, to use sealant liquid in the tires to avoid punctures, carry a pump and a spare part, some food, water and basic tools.
